Affordable Rotational Path Removable Partial Dentures

The dual path or rotational path design was introduced by King and Garver in 1978. These new concept excludes the use of anterior clasping. Proximal undercuts beside the edentulous areas are applied for retention of the prosthesis.

Advantages of Rotational Path Removable Partial Dentures
1. Affordable / low cost.
2. Improved esthetics – anterior clasping is eliminated.
3. Shortened treatment duration.
4. Cleanliness – eliminates plaque accumulation.

Possible Paths of Insertion
1. Anteroposterior (AP) - anterior seats first
2. Posteroanterior (PA) - posterior seats first
3. Lateral - edentulous sides seats first

Removable Partial Dentures are Affordable

Removable Partial Dentures are normally indicated in elderly patients to restore masticatory function. This is by providing adequate occlusal support and prevent occlusal disturbances and TMJ problems. Removable Partial Dentures offer better esthetics and chewing comfort. RPD's are versatile, non-invasive and affordable. Thus, RPD's are indicated to most partially edentulous patients.
